Influences
The Moments draws their influences from a number of different music areas, with each band member bringing a unique taste in music to the table. Sam's influences come from the more modern rock bands such as Nickelback, Foo Fighters, 3 Doors Down, Incubus and Hinder. Mark's taste however is slightly more progressive, favouring heavier bands such as Dream Theater, Nevermore, Opeth and Outworld. Matt again has an interest in slighlty more alternative rock bands such as Radiohead, the Pixies, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Rage Against the Machine. With such diverse influences, The Moments must Rock! YEAH!
The Moments (Previously The Last Moment), was born in 2004 when Sam and Mark (vocals, guitars) started writing and sharing musical ideas. After some initial changes, the lineup of Matt Heike (Bass), with the 2 songwriters was formed. Recently, Liam Hayes (Drums) has taken over the drumming duties, completing the band and adding a solid grounding for the live show.
The Moments blends rock, pop and metal elements to deliver catchy melodies over an edgy rock sound. With great musicianship from all members, The Moments will continue to deliver fresh, interesting rock.
In November 2008 we recorded a brand new EP, 5 songs long but an unending amount of ROCK! Check out the player for the new songs, 'Looking Forward To Tonight,' '15 Minutes,' 'Good Idea At The Time,' 'Hard To Start,' and 'Inside My Head.'
The Moment's songs were mixed and co-produced by Chris Gray from Graylabel studios, under 'Graylabel' in The Moments Friends.
The end of 2008 brought about a number of new changes to the band. The Last Moment played it's last show, as the band changed it's name to The Moments. A new drummer, a new EP, and a new name means a new fresh outlook for an awesome rock band. Get ready for something new to come on your wireless soon!

Cheers Guys. I would liked to have spent a little more time chatting with you the other day but with so many bands coming in and out and sme late as well, time was well against us. I will get out to see a gig for sure once the band comp is finished. keep me posted on gigs.
